Shijiazhuang Tiedao University (STDU) was established in 1950, the predecessor of Chinese People's Liberation Army Railway Engineering Institute.  The university is located in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Heibei province. It only takes one hour by high-speed train to travel from Shijiazhuang to Beijing.  The university has been enrolling students from all over the country who are qualified for first-batch enrollment based on their performance in the College Entrance Examination.  Currently, it has 28,000 full-time students, including 2,700 postgraduates and more than 230 international students. The university has established cooperative relationship with more than 30 universities and research institutions in different countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, Russia, Canada, Australia and Spain.  STDU develops extensive cooperation with those countries and regions in the fields of teaching, scientific research, cooperation and exchange.  STDU has many students from Asia, America, Europe and Africa.
